Job Description

Role Summary
We are seeking a Principal IT Software Architect to drive enterprise-level architectural strategy across cloud, data center, and platform environments. In this role, you will ensure infrastructure services are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives while influencing the design of mission-critical systems. Your leadership will elevate platform reliability, automation maturity, and cross-team collaboration.

You will guide architectural direction across AWS, Azure, observability tooling, DevOps workflows, and core infrastructure services. By embedding reliability engineering principles into platform design, you will improve system availability, strengthen operational readiness, and deliver a more consistent digital experience. This role also plays a key function in consultative engagement—partnering closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders to enable well-governed, high-quality technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Architecture & Technical Leadership
  • Lead enterprise architecture strategy across cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and reliability initiatives.
  • Manage cross-functional demand intake, prioritization, and architectural consulting for new and evolving initiatives.
  • Apply architectural standards, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and reliability practices to reduce delivery risk.
  • Develop and maintain solution patterns, reference architectures, and onboarding frameworks.
  • Partner with Development, Operations, Security, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure secure and reliable outcomes.
Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Architecture & Cybersecurity
  • Architect resilient, scalable, and secure platforms across AWS and Azure.
  • Define and govern SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, availability baselines, and performance metrics.
  • Lead architectural guidance during major incidents, root-cause analysis, and problem-management cycles.
  • Establish cloud landing zones, security frameworks, and standardized infrastructure patterns.
  • Integrate IAM, PAM, network security, and policy enforcement into platform designs.
  • Conduct cloud-readiness evaluations, migration planning, and architectural risk assessments.
DevOps, Automation & Operational Excellence
  • Advance DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automated deployment models.
  • Streamline operational workflows through architectural automation and tooling modernization.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting for proactive detection and visibility.
  • Support governance, cost optimization, license rationalization, and platform consolidation efforts.
  • Lead capacity planning and forecasting to support future platform demand.
  • Oversee 24×7 production support models to ensure high availability and operational integrity.
Business Partner Engagement & Consulting
  • Serve as the primary architectural advisor for infrastructure-related business priorities.
  • Lead consultative engagement, demand shaping, and solution alignment with business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate delivery across engineering teams, vendors, and technology partners.
  • Provide strategic guidance on modernization, infrastructure capabilities, and portfolio roadmap alignment.

Key Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture, cloud engineering, or SRE leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of SRE principles, including SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and resilience patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure environments.
  • Proficiency with Datadog, Splunk, AppDynamics, or related observability tools.
  • Expertise in Agile development, DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Git), and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience with cloud security, IAM/PAM, network controls, and compliance-aligned design.
  • Background in Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Bicep), Kubernetes/Docker, and datacenter operations.
  • Experience supporting cloud migration from traditional on-prem environments.
  • Strong vendor-management experience and knowledge of ITIL frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong organizational ability, emotional intelligence, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, MIS, or related field.
  • Preferred certifications: AWS or Azure, SAFe Agile.
